If you’ve seen Chef Ramsay’s show, Hell’s Kitchen, you know how often beef wellington is one of the menu items and you might be thinking that I lied a couple weeks ago when I said I was going to give his World Kitchen cookbook a rest… but you’d be wrong. This one comes from Rachael Ray’s Look & Cook. I pointed this cookbook out to John before Christmas at which point he told me to go away so that he could (I only assume) take a picture with his phone so that he’d remember and be able to go back and get it later. He’s smart like that… or maybe it has more to do with the fact I’ll be cooking for him…

It was so cold this past weekend I really wanted to make some soup to warm us up. I have a few different soup cookbooks, it took a bit of time to go through all the recipes. I ended up choosing 2 that looked good (a vegetable which I’ll probably make another time, and clam) so I gave John the final choice. Clam soup is not something that I would normally have tried but the picture in The Soup Bible looked really good.

Classes started back up this week, hence another late post. Have you ever looked at a book and been intimidated before you even cracked the cover? I tell you my biology text book is scary to even look at, it’s red of all colours. A nice soothing green might have been a better choice for a book that is, I swear, 50 pounds. And I found out in class (because I still haven’t removed the plastic wrap) that there is a CD/DVD Rom inside the book that has extra chapters that will be covered. YIKES! John and I were joking about it, how I should just give up now. We went on and on for a good 5-10 minutes, it was pretty funny… but at the same time a small part of me was thinking maybe I should just give up.
