I tried my first pulled pork sandwich a couple years ago at the CNE. It was love at first bite. The pork, slow cooked in a BBQ sauce, combined with the fresh crusty bun was absolutely delicious. I’ve only had a pulled pork sandwich a few times since then, and every one of those times it’s been really good.

Last Friday John said that he felt like Chinese food. Being the best girlfriend in the world (right hunny?!) I picked up all the fixings for our Friday night Chinese food feast. Normally I would have made a generic stir fry and some rice noodles and called it a day. But I wanted to go the extra mile and try out a bunch of things I’d never made before. Mmmm! There’s nothing better than a bowl (or two) of homemade soup on a cold night… and if I’m completely honest on a hot day too. I’m pretty sure that I had homemade soups in my fridge all summer long. What can I say, I love soup. It’s so easy to make and so versatile. I very rarely have packaged soup in my cupboard, I much prefer fresh. Let’s be clear though, I’m not advocating against premade, hell there are a few that I like and in a pinch or if I’m in a rush they do just fine. But fresh, homemade soup is just heaven.
